TEAM MANAGEMENTStrategies

  • Scope of this position will begin by directly managing individual contributors and through growth will evolve into leading managers of teams across the franchise.

  • Coach and mentor a team of Financial Operations Associates working remotely in a cloud-based environment to deliver superior outsourced accounting and operational services.

  • Balance workflow by aligning client’s needs with Financial Operations Associate expertise and capacity.

  • Review Financial Operations Associate's work to ensure the highest quality service to our clients.

  • Ensure P&L responsibility for all aspects of assigned clients and team.

  • Responsible for the recruitment and retention of team members.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with client executives by gaining an intimate understanding of their business objectives.

  • Support client’s evolving requirements by educating executives on Supporting Strategies' deep and varied expertise in accounting and operational services.

  • Proactively identify client issues, communicate and implement timely solutions.

  • Partner with Managing Director on Business Development initiatives.

  • Identify additional operational support areas and grow existing accounts.

CLIENT SUPPORT

  • Provide exceptional strategic-level accounting and operational support to our clients.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of professional accounting and bookkeeping practices; keep abreast of the latest developments in technologies to deliver outstanding quality service.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Partner with Business Development Director to develop and leverage a business network of complimentary service providers (such as CPAs and consulting CFOs), funding sources (such as banks and venture capitalists), and business owners to drive business growth objectives.

  • Participate in sales calls and proposal development as required.

  • Understand and utilize Community WorkPlace.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and report on key business metrics to ensure achievement of the franchise growth plan.

  • Create an annual profit and loss budget and analyze based on budgets and revenue.

  • Define KPIs to measure performance and instill best practices for direct reports that are in line with business goals.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Prior Law Firm experience required.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field.

  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

  • 10 years of accounting experience, at least 7 years in a management capacity.

  • Ability to manage remotely in a professional services environment.

  • Superior relationship-building skills and account management expertise.

  • Excellent project management skills and a thorough understanding of professional accounting and bookkeeping practices.

  • Strong computer and technical skills including QuickBooks (enterprise and Online), Bill.com Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet, and multiple applications.

  • Balance workflow by aligning client needs with accountants’ expertise and capacity in accordance with predetermined budgets. Confer with your Managing Director regarding any potential capacity issues in order to take proactive measures to ensure success.

Responsibilities

Client Delight – Building Great Client Relationships

  • Provide a range of customized services to multiple clients, empowering them to make the best decisions for their business. These services may range up to full Controller-level oversight including aiding clients strategically by providing financial planning & analysis, reporting, and forecasting down to managing transactional accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, month-end close, payroll, HR administration & special projects.

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with clients while performing within established processes and budgeted parameters.

  • Support client onboarding process for all assigned client engagements in accordance with defined process.

  • Collaborate with your manager and other Associates on your team to ensure all clients are delighted with our services through timely and effective communication, delivery on deadlines, and stellar accounting support.

  • Identify and recommend to your manager areas where Supporting Strategies may be able to provide additional services or tools to drive additional client value and efficiency.

Team Delight – Creating a Satisfying & Collaborative Virtual Environment

  • Complete virtual training with guidance from your manager in accordance with established Supporting Strategies procedures.

  • Communicate with your manager regarding your established schedule, desired hours, and potential capacity issues.

  • Participate in recurring team and one-on-one check-in meetings to ensure you are aligned for success.

  • Embrace coaching and feedback provided by your manager and implement changes as needed to help meet the team and client goals.


Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have the following experience and attributes:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability to provide end-to-end accounting solutions including, financial planning & analysis, financial reporting, as well as detailed level bookkeeping support – accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close for small businesses.

  • 1+ years of transactional accounting experience using QuickBooks for/in a professional organization.

  • Experience using web-based communication & conferencing technology.

  • Capacity and commitment to work 20-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during traditional daytime business hours supporting clients.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Lead a team providing a range of customized services to multiple clients, empowering them to make the best decisions for their business. These services may range up to full Controller-level oversight including aiding clients strategically by providing financial planning & analysis, reporting, and forecasting down to managing transactional accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, month-end close, payroll, HR administration & special projects.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with clients while performing within established processes and budget parameters.

  • Support client onboarding process for all assigned client engagements in accordance with defined process.

  • Serve as a resource to all assigned team members for guidance on client tasks and/or the resolution of client issues.

  • Monitor team member performance by reviewing the quality of work, adherence to protocols, timeliness of deliverables, and adherence to client budgets. Provide coaching and feedback as needed.

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with client executives by gaining an in-depth understanding of their business needs and objectives in order to proactively identify issues and provide solutions.

  • Train, develop, and lead newly assigned accountants in accordance with Supporting Strategies’ standard process. Provide ongoing coaching to deliver superior outsourced accounting and operational services.

  • Balance workflow by aligning client needs with the expertise of team members.

  • Manage staff realization and utilization in accordance with predetermined budgets.

  • Confer with your Managing Director regarding potential capacity issues and take proactive measures to ensure success.

  • Partner with members of our Talent Acquisition team and your Managing Director to manage the hiring process for remote accountants assigned to you. This will include reviewing pre-screened candidates, interviewing, calling references, and providing timely feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified candidate must have the following experience and attributes:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

  • 10 years of progressive accounting & finance, with 4 years of hands-on management experience including hiring, training, and developing a highly engaged service-oriented team.

  • Capacity and commitment to work 30-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during traditional daytime business hours supporting clients and team members.

  • Proven ability to attract, build and retain a high-performance team.

  • Experience in developing strong remote team relationships based on trust, accountability, integrity, and sharing of best practices.
