Global Operations (Global Ops) focuses on creating positive experiences for MetLife customers and helping the company make the best use of its global resources. In this role, you will handle the most complex claims and be a leader and mentor within their site for claim management. This role will work with new hires as a coach to help them maximize their abilities related to claim decision-making and service delivery. The Lead Claims Specialist will be a technical expert and an emerging leader who will be a change agent and will be asked to participate in various continuous improvement projects to provide input on new ideas or designs influencing how we manage claims and service customers. The Lead Claims Specialist is the highest-level individual contributor resource that manages claims within the LTD organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Makes independent decisions in managing an assigned caseload of the most complex cases.

  • Independently assess, analyze and render appropriate claim decisions, consistent with the applicable plans and federal and state law, to maintain appropriate and timely claim outcomes.

  • Participates in hew hire onboarding as well as one on one coaching, mentoring, and development.

  • Serves as an extended leadership team member, providing direct support to Unit Leaders, and partners with the leadership team to meet project goals related to quality, timeliness, and customer service, and staff development.

  • Provides feedback to the leadership team on individual, team, customer, or site performance.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • High School Diploma

  • 5+ years of LTD/IDI claims experience

  • Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques

Preferred:

  • May require specialized knowledge acquired through formal claim training

  • Bachelor’s Degree


Key Responsibilities:

Create and own content processes and deliverables while collaborating across teams to deliver, for example:

  • Usability, functionality, and formatting requirements for online media

  • Assessments, audits, content guidelines, and approaches specific to various digital media

  • Research and analysis of customer and competitive behavior across digital landscapes

  • Establish and analyze business metrics and key performance indicators to determine the effectiveness and viability of strategy and tactics

  • Maintain iterative content processes: negotiate revisions and input from multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts

  • Work with stakeholders to develop content strategy requirements and associated deliverables such as:

    • Editorial and content authoring standards

    • Defining contextually relevant messaging and approaches that align with objectives and medium-specific guidelines

    • Develop SEO and SEM plans and tactics to support on- and off-line campaigns

  • Content strategy and information architecture:

    • Work to manage and implement content updates to various CMS platforms while adhering to website style guides

    • Content-type definitions: sitemaps, taxonomies, wireframes

    • Contribute to persona development and use case scenarios

  • Competitive Intelligence: Develop competitive intelligence by collecting and maintaining a library of other pet insurance visual and written content. This info will be used to inform our strategy and keep a pulse on the marketplace.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a content strategy and/or content creation role

  • Strong business acumen with proven technical skills, specifically familiar and comfortable with concepts involving websites and mobile applications technology

  • Working knowledge of usability and accessibility principles, SEO/SEM approaches, content management

  • Working knowledge of graphic design principles and graphic design software platforms

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to work nimbly

Role Value Proposition

As part of the Global Security Technology organization, the Principal - Threat Vulnerability Management and Remediation Engineer is responsible for executing the enterprise-wide strategy to develop and implement vulnerability management frameworks and methodologies across the MetLife enterprise environment. This hands-on position also requires strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams to ensure the design of the governance, processes, and technology solutions comply with MetLife’s information risk and security policies and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Principal - Threat Vulnerability Management and Remediation Engineer is responsible for designing and architecting the next-generation enterprise vulnerability management framework and security patching program. This individual will be accountable to refine/define MetLife’s global vulnerability management framework and implement and lead efforts to drive remediation efforts across the MetLife-supported technology stack.

  • Identify, recommend, implement and support technical security solutions to enhance MetLife’s Operating system security and vulnerability patching

  • Define the strategy and roadmap for implementing consistent vulnerability management and security patching solutions and processes across MetLife supported Operating systems and ensure identified vulnerabilities are resolved within defined SLAs

  • Enhance the current security Operating System patch management program to embed vulnerability patching and establish a methodology to measure the maturity of the program against Industry standards such as NIST 800-40
