The Benefits Wrangler will be a strategic partner to Automatticians and the Human League team and be responsible for coordinating all benefits and retirement programs in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, Ireland, and South Africa. You will maintain vendor relationships in each country, and coordinate all US benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.


The Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting will have overall responsibility for:

  • US GAAP financial reporting, including the annual audit report, quarterly debt compliance, and monthly GAAP reporting (CF Statement, Equity, IS, Bal Sheet, Comp Income)

  • Accounting policies which include revenue recognition, share-based compensation, purchase accounting, lease accounting, internal-use software, etc.

  • Playing an integral part in M&A by participating in due diligence, completing ASC 805 purchase accounting and the fair value of acquired assets and liabilities, partnering with 3rd party valuation specialists, and collaborating with relevant teams within Automattic to understand relevant aspects of the acquisition

  • Drafting technical accounting memos for relevant material transactions


The Director of Revenue Accounting will:

  • Oversee all operational aspects of revenue for our business, including subscription and enterprise b2b and b2c models; including invoicing, collections, and the application of our revenue recognition policies.


We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have at least three years of combined public accounting and private industry experience.

  • You have a CPA or equivalent license.

  • You have experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP.

  • You have experience with multinational monthly closes, including inter-company.

  • You love improving upon existing processes and procedures.

  • You are obsessive about documentation in your work papers.

  • You are a team-oriented professional with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset, who promotes a collaborative team effort and celebrates team successes.
