What You Will Do


Coordinate OR surgery schedules to maximize efficient use of operating rooms, equipment, and staff.

  • Work with physician offices to gather information needed to schedule surgeries consistent with department guidelines and accommodating physicians' requests and patients' needs.

  • Assign operating suites and equipment and blocks times to maximize efficient use of resources.

  • Ensure that necessary demographic, billing, and insurance information is entered into electronic medical records and coordinates with Patient Admitting as needed to prevent delays in scheduled surgery.

This role falls within The Resource Group's Strategic Sourcing Solution. The Strategic Sourcing Solution is a discipline-based model that uses collaboration to deliver savings and end-user satisfaction. Instead of contracting for resources and supplies end-users may or may not want to use, communities within The Resource Group's Strategic Sourcing Solution take a different approach and focus on contracting for the supplies and services that meet the criteria determined by caregivers.

As an Agent, Sourcing you will be responsible for the development and negotiation of comprehensive sourcing strategies and initiatives that support participants including The Resource Group, Ascension health ministries and other key stakeholders. Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, the Sourcing Agent works with The Resource Group leadership to ensure that supply chain contracts are consistent with and supportive of sourcing strategies. They serve as a key representative for The Resource Group and on behalf of its group purchasing organization (GPO) in interactions with current and potential suppliers. They participate ,in a variety of teams, initiatives, and projects using established sourcing and category management methodologies and ensure that work complies with internal and external policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently work to achieve a competitive advantage in total cost, quality, technology, and supply continuity across disciplines to ensure achievement of acceptable products, services, and vendors as indicated by end-user groups

  • Negotiate to price and contract terms and conditions to minimize risk for all healthcare Participants

  • Ensure consistent and defendable sourcing strategies and supporting supply chain processes are in place and properly administered in compliance with all regulations and policies

  • Perform contract management and maintenance including new contracts, amendments, an extension of terms, and scope of service changes

  • Review and analyze sourcing data, market trends, benchmarking best practices, and maintain market awareness to provide continuous improvements for sourcing strategies

  • Develop and facilitate collaborative working relationships with Finance, Corporate Risk, Legal, Contract Design and Implementation teams through communications and timely reporting of changes in critical business matters

  • Provide regular updates on category strategies and supplier relationship management programs, including key performance metrics and status of process improvement initiatives

  • Represents The Resource Group in interactions with the supplier community.
